President Murmu visits Dwarkadhish Temple, Gujarat Vidyapith during state tour

President Droupadi Murmu kicked off her three-day visit to Gujarat with a spiritual stop at the Dwarkadhish Temple, offering prayers for the well-being and prosperity of all. This marks a significant part of her trip before heading to Ahmedabad for the 71st convocation ceremony at Gujarat Vidyapith, where she will be the chief guest.

The visit blends spirituality, culture, and academia, with her presence at Gujarat Vidyapith, founded by Mahatma Gandhi in 1920, highlighting the ongoing promotion of Gandhian values. On Friday, she also visited Somnath Temple for darshan and puja, and paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s statue, honoring his role in India’s integration.

Later, she traveled to Gir National Park, meeting local tribal communities. Praising their sustainable lifestyle, she urged the tribal families to focus on education, noting the impressive literacy rate of the Siddi tribe. She also emphasized the importance of tribal inclusion in India’s development, stressing that their active participation is key to building a just society and achieving a developed India by 2047.
