Pro-L 2

FabFilter Pro-L 2 is a complete audio plugin for mixing and mastering music. It uses eight advanced algorithms, including true peak limiting, linear-phase oversampling, professional dithering, and noise shaping. It also supports surround sound up to Dolby Atmos 7.1.2 and has smart channel linking.

FabFilter Pro-L 2 has accurate, true peak level meters and detailed loudness meters. It follows the EBU R128, ITU-R BS.1770-4, and ATSC A/85 standards. With its special real-time level display, you have all the information you need to get the best results.

Overview of Pro-L 2

The software delivers clear, transparent sound with high loudness. It includes eight limiting algorithms, each with unique character and purpose, and adds true peak limiting. Users can see levels in real-time with peak gain reduction labels and new display modes. The software supports up to 32 times linear-phase oversampling and provides precise output and gain reduction metering, including true peak metering.

It offers extensive loudness metering that meets EBU R128, ITU-R BS.1770-4, and ATSC A/85 standards. The software supports immersive and Atmos surround formats up to Dolby Atmos 9.1.6, allowing flexible channel linking. An optional DC offset filter and external side chain triggering for stem mastering are available. Users can select a Unity Gain option to hear the limiting effect at Unity Gain and an Audition Limiting option to compare input and output signals.

Additional features include an adjustable meter scale with K-System support and low CPU usage. The software allows separate channel linking for transient and release stages and offers advanced dithering with three noise-shaping algorithms. It uses GPU-powered graphics acceleration and supports double-click text entry for parameter values. The software adapts to stereo, mono, and surround audio formats and provides adjustable look-ahead, attack, and release settings. An optional compact interface layout is available, and it supports common Pro Tools hardware control surfaces.

Other features include MIDI Learn, undo and redo functions, A/B comparison, smart parameter interpolation, and an extensive help file with interactive hints. The software is available in VST, VST3, Audio Units, AAX Native, and AudioSuite formats in 64-bit and 32-bit versions and RTAS in 32-bit only.
