What is umculo?

Umculo is a Zulu and Xhosa word that means music. Music is sounds put together in patterns to create singles, EPs, and LPs projects. People make these sound patterns with instruments or voices. Music lets people put out feelings like happy or sad. Listening to or making music can make people feel good feelings.

Why is Umculo Important?

People make music for fun times like dances and parties. Some people make music to make money. The people who make music are called musicians. Musicians need to learn how to play instruments or sing well. In other words, people use music to mark important events like weddings, birthdays, and funerals. Each song has its meaning and purpose. But sometimes people make bubblegum music such as mumble rap or cheesy pop songs.
