Bauchi education board blasts poor turnout at workshop
Bauchi’s education officials are furious over the pathetic turnout at a key workshop for teachers. The BASUBEB Chairman, Adamu Mohammed, couldn’t hide his disappointment as only half of the expected 130 attendees showed up. He’s threatening sanctions for those who skipped out, warning that he won’t approve any allowances unless full attendance is met. The training was supposed to enhance teachers’ skills and bring modern teaching techniques, but the lack of interest is a slap in the face.
Facilitators from the WITS School of Education stressed the importance of using technology to boost teaching, but there’s a glaring issue: Nigeria’s government needs to regulate AI use in classrooms. Teachers were warned not to rely on AI for everything—get back to basics or risk failing the students.
