BFF unveils two new FIFA-funded artificial turfs in Dhaka

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has launched two new FIFA-funded artificial turfs, one next to its headquarters and the other at Kamalapur Bir Shrestha Shaheed Sipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium. These new turfs are part of efforts to upgrade facilities for international football.

The Kamalapur Stadium turf was unveiled on Tuesday by Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuiyan, Adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, while BFF President Tabith Awal revealed the turf at the BFF headquarters. Awal explained that the project began in December 2024, with FIFA funding of USD 1.3 million. Greenfield, the certified firm, led the work, and the BFF provided local support.

Although the turfs are ready for use, some facilities still need renovation, including the dressing rooms, audience galleries, and media room. Awal noted that improvements are still needed for player and media spaces, as well as basic amenities like water and seating.
