Bangladesh launches inaugural AGO Internship Programme with UNDP support
The Attorney General’s Office (AGO) of Bangladesh, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), launched the first-ever AGO Internship Programme 2025 at the Supreme Court on Tuesday. This initiative is a pioneering effort to mentor top law graduates from across the country and shape the next generation of legal professionals.
The programme aims to create skilled, ethical, and results-driven lawyers who will drive judicial reform and strengthen prosecution services in Bangladesh. The theme “Youth Contribution to Justice Reform in Bangladesh” highlights the focus on youth leadership in the justice sector.
Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman emphasized the need for legal professionals who understand both the law and its application. Law Adviser Asif Nazrul praised the programme, encouraging more universities to participate in the future. UNDP’s Stefan Liller highlighted the importance of youth in transforming the justice system, supported by Sweden and Norway. The launch also welcomed 25 young interns, including 12 women, from leading universities, setting the stage for future legal leadership in Bangladesh.
