Coppel eyes trade ties with Bangladesh for apparel, electronics

Coppel, a major retailer in Mexico, is interested in building long-term trade relations with Bangladesh, praising the country’s high-quality products and affordable prices. Representatives from Coppel, which operates over 2,000 stores in Mexico and Argentina, visited Dhaka this week to explore sourcing options for apparel, cosmetics, electronics, and furniture.

Maria Elena Castillo, Coppel’s liaison officer, expressed excitement about Bangladesh’s growing industrial capacity and product quality. She highlighted the country’s stable environment and potential for collaboration.

Leaders from both countries see opportunities for increased trade, with Bangladesh’s potential exports to Latin America possibly reaching over $1 billion annually.
