Davor Štern says Filipinos more productive than Croats
Davor Štern, a former Croatian minister, said Filipinos work harder than Croats. He talked about many workers coming from the Philippines to Croatia. There were only 17 Filipinos in Croatia when he became their consul. Today, there are 17,000 Filipinos, with 3,000 more coming soon.
Štern said Filipinos are good workers, and they don’t have problems in Croatia. He explained that some people wrongly believe foreign workers are paid less than Croats. He mentioned that the workers must get the same pay and that the companies must provide food, housing, and travel.
He also said the Filipinos will help in care homes where there aren’t enough workers. The government is helping them learn Croatian words before they arrive.
