Delhi CM Rekha Gupta assures clean Yamuna for Chhath festival

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta visited the Yamuna bank at Kalindi Kunj on Thursday and assured Chhath devotees that the water is cleaner this year, with no harmful froth. She highlighted that froth, which once rose to a height of one meter, has been eliminated through government measures.

CM Gupta emphasized the government’s commitment to providing a better experience for devotees, with hundreds of employees working to clean the river. She also warned against “fake” videos claiming the froth had returned. The government has adopted eco-friendly solutions to treat froth without harming the river’s ecosystem.

Criticizing previous governments for neglecting the issue, she said, “Our government had the intent to solve this problem.” She also noted the efforts for green crackers during Diwali and affirmed that Delhi’s government is fully prepared for a cleaner Yamuna during Chhath.
