Gavin Larsen returns as New Zealand Cricket’s selection manager
Gavin Larsen has been chosen to manage the New Zealand Cricket team’s selection. He used to play for New Zealand in Tests and One Day Internationals. Larsen worked as the chief executive of Cricket Wellington and managed cricket before the 2015 World Cup. From 2015 to 2023, he was the selection manager for New Zealand.
Larsen will work with coach Rob Walter to pick players for the Blackcaps, New Zealand A, and New Zealand XI. Daryl Gibson, the Chief High Performance Officer, said Larsen’s knowledge of the game and New Zealand’s cricket scene helped him get the job. Larsen starts on November 3.
