General Upendra Dwivedi meets Ethiopia’s top military leader in New Delhi

General Upendra Dwivedi, Chief of Army Staff of India, met Ethiopia’s General Alemshet Degife Balcha in New Delhi on Friday. They discussed ways to improve cooperation in training, peacekeeping, and defence capacity-building. Both leaders emphasized the importance of stronger defence ties and regional peace.

Earlier, General Dwivedi also met Major General Fadhil Omary Nondo from Tanzania to discuss strengthening defence cooperation and training exchanges. They also explored opportunities for collaboration in UN peacekeeping efforts.

Additionally, General Dwivedi met Major General Jean Claude Niyiburana from Burundi to deepen defence cooperation and enhance peacekeeping collaboration. The meetings were part of the UNTCC2025 event, which concluded with discussions on strengthening UN peacekeeping operations.
