Ninova blasts budget as income killer
Kornelia Ninova criticized Bulgaria’s 2026 budget proposal on Wednesday, calling it harmful to workers and businesses. The Unruly Bulgaria leader said pension insurance increases and potential health insurance hikes would damage small and medium enterprises while reducing purchasing power across the workforce.
Ninova wrote on Facebook that the minimum wage falls below 50 percent of average earnings, affecting more than 400,000 employees. She characterized this as a violation of both the Labor Code and European Union standards, while noting that maternity benefits remain frozen for a second consecutive year.
The opposition politician warned of additional negative provisions in the financial plan. She blamed the current administration for failing to deliver economic growth and improved living standards for Bulgarian citizens.
