Passenger vehicle, two-wheeler sales rise in September 2025
In September, passenger vehicle dispatches rose by 4.4% to 3,72,458 units, compared to 3,56,752 units last year, according to SIAM. Two-wheeler sales increased by 7% to 21,60,889 units, and three-wheeler dispatches grew by 5.5% to 84,077 units. Despite new GST rates being implemented for just 9 days, the industry saw its highest-ever sales for September.
For the July-September quarter, passenger vehicle sales were slightly lower at 10,39,200 units, compared to 10,55,137 units last year. Two-wheeler sales grew by 7%, driven by rural demand. Three-wheeler sales rose by 10%, reflecting increased economic activity. The overall outlook for the rest of the year remains positive, with the sector expected to see continued growth.
