PM Modi offers prayers at Srisailam temple in Andhra Pradesh

On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Srisailam temple in Andhra Pradesh’s Nandyal district and offered prayers at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam. The temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlings and 52 Shakti Peeths, is significant for housing both a Jyotirlinga and a Shakti Peeth. PM Modi was welcomed by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, and temple officials. This is Modi’s first visit to the temple, making him the fourth Prime Minister to offer prayers there after Nehru, Indira Gandhi, and P.V. Narasimha Rao.

Following the temple visit, Modi visited the Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra, a memorial dedicated to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. At the center of the complex stands a statue of Shivaji in deep meditation. Later, he addressed the Super GST Super Saving public meeting in Nannuru village, part of a campaign on GST reforms. He also laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth Rs 13,430 crore across various sectors. This marks Modi’s fifth visit to Andhra Pradesh since the TDP-led NDA government took power.
