Rain forces washout in Bangladesh-India World Cup match

Rain canceled the Women’s World Cup match between Bangladesh and India on Sunday at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. Bangladesh scored 119 for nine wickets in 27 overs after winning the toss, with Sharmin Akhter making 36 runs as the top scorer. India needed 126 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method and reached 57 without losing a wicket before the storms ended play.

Bangladesh finished seventh in the tournament standings with three points from one victory, one abandoned match and five losses. The team beat Pakistan by seven wickets for its lone win in the competition. Radha Yadav took three wickets for India as the best bowler in the shortened contest.
