Daily Sun celebrates 15 years of journalism excellence

The Daily Sun marked 15 years of publication with a ceremony on Sunday at its Bashundhara office that brought together diplomats, journalists and business leaders. Bashundhara Group Vice Chairman Safwan Sobhan told attendees the newspaper remains committed to impartial reporting and growth through partnerships with readers and supporters.

Foreign envoys praised the publication’s role in strengthening international ties. Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen highlighted a recent four-page supplement on bilateral relations, while Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma credited the newspaper for promoting media exchanges between the two nations.

Senior journalists commended the publication for balanced coverage of national achievements and challenges. Jatiya Press Club President Hasan Hafiz urged media professionals to use newfound freedoms responsibly after recent political changes that ended years of restrictions.

Publisher Maynal Hossain Chowdhury thanked staff members and advertisers for their support in the steady progress since the newspaper launched on Oct. 24, 2010. The company plans to launch a redesigned website on Nov. 1.
