Sri Lanka bat first against South Africa in World Cup clash

Sri Lanka won the toss and chose to bat first against South Africa in the 18th match of the ICC Women’s World Cup at R. Premadasa Stadium on Friday.

South Africa made three changes, bringing in Sune Luus, Karabo Meso, and Nondumiso Shangase to replace Anneke Bosch, Sinalo Jafta, and Tumi Sekhukhune. Sri Lanka, however, kept the same lineup as their previous game against New Zealand.

Sri Lanka’s captain, Chamari Athapaththu, said they decided to bat first after a strong performance against New Zealand. South Africa’s captain, Laura Wolvaardt, mentioned that they are comfortable chasing and ready to adjust to the conditions.
