Vetrimaaran hails Mari Selvaraj’s Bison
Director Vetrimaaran praised Mari Selvaraj’s sports drama Bison as a profound meditation on resilience and resistance. He commended Dhruv Vikram’s performance and highlighted the film’s symbolic elements, such as the bison skeleton representing strength and kabaddi depicting the struggle for dignity. Vetrimaaran noted how the narrative shifts between black and white and color cinematography to convey themes of loss, memory and hope. Superstar Rajinikanth and Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin have also congratulated Selvaraj for his work.
The film features Dhruv Vikram as a kabaddi player alongside Anupama Parameswaran. Applause Entertainment and Pa Ranjith’s Neelam Studios produced the project, which draws inspiration from true events. The cast features Lal, Pasupathy, Rajisha Vijayan, Hari Krishnan and Azhagam Perumal in supporting roles. Ezhil Arasu K handled cinematography while Sakthi Thiru managed editing for the production.
