Zimbabwe’s 2026 budget to focus on growth, stability

Zimbabwe is gearing up for the 2026 National Budget, with a clear focus on boosting economic growth through stability, infrastructure, and inclusivity to reach Vision 2030. Minister of Finance, Professor Mthuli Ncube, emphasized that the budget’s main goal is to lay a solid economic foundation, essential for advancing from the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) to Vision 2030.

The budget will prioritize macroeconomic stability, infrastructure development, and reducing business costs. Ncube highlighted the importance of ensuring a stable economic environment to encourage investment, while also addressing national debt and arrears.

Inclusivity remains key, with the budget aiming to increase funding for health, education, and social protection to ensure no one is left behind. The 2026 Budget is expected to be presented to Parliament later this year, marking the next phase of the country’s development strategy.
