12 killed, over 100 injured in Pakistani strike on Afghanistan’s Spin Boldak

A Pakistani military strike on Spin Boldak district in southern Kandahar, Afghanistan, on Wednesday killed at least 12 people and injured over 100, according to the Taliban. The attack, involving both light and heavy weapons, was retaliated by Afghan forces, killing several Pakistani soldiers and capturing their posts. Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid confirmed that Afghan forces destroyed many Pakistani military installations and seized weapons.

The clashes, which started at around 4 a.m. and lasted until 8 a.m., resulted in casualties on both sides, with significant damage to nearby civilian areas. Medical staff in Kandahar reported at least 25 deaths and over 80 injuries, many of whom were women and children. The attack comes amid rising tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
