Abhishek Sharma, Smriti Mandhana win ICC Player of the Month awards for September

Abhishek Sharma and Smriti Mandhana, both from India, were named ICC Players of the Month for September. Abhishek, 25, earned the award for his stunning performance in the Asia Cup, scoring 314 runs in seven matches with an average of 44.85 and a strike rate of 200. He also reached a career-high 931 rating points in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings.

Smriti had a brilliant run in the home ODI series against Australia, scoring 308 runs in four matches with an average of 77. She made the fastest century by an India batter in the third ODI, hitting 100 off 50 balls.

Both players thanked their teams and supporters for their achievements.
