ACB uncovers land scam involving top J&K officials on Gupkar Road
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) just busted a massive land scam in Srinagar. Senior officials from the Revenue and Custodian Evacuee Property Departments teamed up with private players to pull off a shady land swap involving prime evacuee property on Gupkar Road.
They traded 17 marlas of valuable land for cheaper property, bypassing legal rules, falsifying documents, and ignoring high court orders. This scheme ripped off the government and lined private pockets with ill-gotten gains. A criminal case is in motion, with potential arrests and action on the horizon.
This isn’t just a case of bad paperwork—it’s about trust, money, and high-stakes land deals involving land that belongs to evacuees from pre-1947 Pakistan.
