Afghanistan announces squads for Zimbabwe tour, Shahidi to lead Test side

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced its squads for the upcoming Zimbabwe tour, featuring a one-off Test match and a three-match T20I series starting October 20 at Harare Sports Club.

For the Test match, Hashmatullah Shahidi will captain the team, with Rashid Khan being rested for his well-being. The squad includes Bashir Ahmad, Zia Ur Rahman Sharifi, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Khalil Gurbaz, and Shahidullah Kamal. The reserve pool includes Ibrahim Abdulrahimzai, Sediqullah Atal, and Shams Ur Rahman.

For the T20I series, Rashid Khan returns as captain, and Ijaz Ahmadzai makes his comeback. The squad also features Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, and others. The reserve players are AM Ghazanfar and Faridoon Dawoodzai.

Naseeb Khan, CEO of ACB, highlighted the success of Afghanistan’s ongoing international cricket efforts and the upcoming series against Zimbabwe.
