Alia Bhatt celebrates mother Soni Razdan’s birthday with heartfelt posts

Alia Bhatt marked her mother Soni Razdan’s birthday on Saturday with Instagram photographs showing the two embracing and laughing at dinner. The Jigra star described her mother as the family’s universe, who brightens each day.

Razdan was born in Birmingham to a British-German mother and a Kashmiri Pandit father, then relocated to India and attended Elphinstone College in Mumbai. The British-Indian performer built her reputation through television serials Buniyaad and Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum before appearing in films such as 36 Chowringhee Lane, Mandi, Saaransh and Khamosh.

Recent projects feature roles in Raazi, Yours Truly and the web series Call My Agent: Bollywood. She portrayed Kashmiri vocalist Raj Begum in Songs of Paradise.

Razdan married filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and maintains her acting career across multiple platforms. She previously recalled the challenging overnight production schedule for her film Party while promoting Songs of Paradise.
