Anurag Kashyap reflects on fading career with Instagram bio change

Indian filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, known for works like Black Friday, Paanch, and Gangs of Wasseypur, recently updated his Instagram bio, expressing a sense of disheartenment. His new bio reads, “Ab time chala gaya, fillam bhi chali gayi. Main bhi,” translating to “The time has gone, the film too came and went. I’m on the same path as well.” Though Kashyap hasn’t explained the meaning behind these words, it could reflect his struggles after his recent films, like Nishaanchi, underperformed at the box office. His work, including Kennedy, remains unreleased, echoing the fate of his debut film Paanch, which never saw the light of day.

Kashyap has also faced controversy, including backlash earlier this year over comments he made regarding the Brahmin community. His remarks led to online outrage, legal action, and threats against his family. After the incident, Kashyap apologized publicly, expressing regret for his words and promising to be more mindful in the future. Despite the controversies and challenges, Kashyap’s influence in Indian cinema remains significant, even if his recent works have not met expectations.
