Ayushmann Khurrana joins Thamma thrill

Actor Ayushmann Khurrana said multiple elements attracted him to the film Thamma when discussing his latest project. He cited the director’s vision, the producer’s track record and the success of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe as key factors in his decision. The franchise ranks among Hindi cinema’s most popular series and Khurrana has admired the previous installments.

This marks his second collaboration with Amar Kaushik after Bala and his first project with director Aditya Sarpotdar. Khurrana praised Munjya and noted that producer Dinesh Vijan has built a strong reputation in the industry. The Diwali release date added to the project’s appeal for the actor.

Khurrana portrays Alok Goyal, an underdog who becomes the superhero Betal, a character with powers he struggles to control. The comedy emerges from his character’s inability to master these abilities. He described this transformation as different from any role in his previous films.

The fifth entry in the horror comedy series features Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Paresh Rawal alongside Khurrana. The plot centers on a journalist who becomes a vampiric creature after meeting a mysterious woman and must defend humanity from an ancient threat.
