Bangladesh apparel exports surge to EU in 2025

Bangladesh’s apparel exports to the European Union (EU) rose to €13.48 billion between January and August 2025, up from €11.92 billion in the same months of 2024. The country saw a 13.13% growth in readymade garment exports, driven by a 14.28% rise in volume and a small drop of 1.01% in unit price.

EU apparel imports grew by 9.29%, totaling €59.90 billion, with a 13.85% rise in volume and a 4.01% fall in unit prices. However, Bangladesh’s exports dropped by 8.04% in August 2025 compared to the same month in 2024.

Other countries, like China and Vietnam, showed strong growth, with China’s exports to the EU rising by 17.19%. Turkey’s exports dropped by 9.51%.
