Prof Towhidul Islam named Dhaka law chair
Prof Dr Md Towhidul Islam became the new chairman of the Department of Law at the University of Dhaka on Thursday. His appointment was confirmed by the university’s acting registrar, Munshi Shams Uddin Ahmed, for a three-year term under the Dhaka University Order, 1973.
Prof Towhidul, a law expert at Dhaka University, holds a PhD in intellectual property law from Macquarie University, Australia. He also earned an LLM in international human rights law from the University of East London, UK, and both an LLB (Honours) and an LLM from Dhaka University.
He has written popular textbooks and published research with global publishers. Prof Towhidul is also a conference speaker, op-ed writer, and consultant to government bodies and international organizations.
