Bangladesh sets India 126-run target in rain-hit clash

Bangladesh posted 119 for nine in 27 overs before rain adjustments set India a revised target of 126 runs at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai on Sunday. Sharmin Akter top-scored with 36 off 53 deliveries while Sobhana Mostary added 26 off 21 balls to push the total after early wickets left the visitors struggling.

The Duckworth-Lewis method determined India’s chase after weather interruptions shortened the match from its original format. Opener Sumaiya Akter departed for two while Rubya Haider contributed 13 and captain Nigar Sultana made nine before late hitting lifted Bangladesh.

India already qualified for the semifinals and rested Kranti Gaud, Sneh Rana and Richa Ghosh while handing Uma Chetry her debut. Bangladesh has been eliminated after losing five straight matches following their tournament-opening victory against Pakistan.
