NCP leader accuses administration of political bias
National Citizen Party organizer Sarjis Alam accused government officials of favoring rival parties rather than maintaining neutrality. He told reporters on Saturday that administrators display bias toward BNP, Jamaat and Awami League members instead of serving Bangladesh equally.
Alam claimed Awami League supporters still control High Court decisions and grant bail through financial exchanges or political deals in murder cases. He warned the interim government that unchecked partisanship threatens election stability and future governance.
The activist said neither BNP nor Jamaat possesses the capability to implement the reforms outlined in the July Charter. He criticized the Election Commission for rejecting his party’s request for the water lily symbol on the basis of arbitrary decisions.
Alam threatened street protests if the commission continues denying NCP its preferred emblem. Party officials plan to establish district committees within 15 days, followed by lower administrative units by December.
