Bangladesh sports fail to deliver despite massive investment
Kazi Nazrul Islam, the head of the National Sports Council, is upset about Bangladesh’s poor results in sports. He said at a press meeting that a lot of money is spent on sports, but the country still doesn’t win much internationally. Nazrul, who used to be an athlete, feels sad seeing how bad things have gotten, especially in football. He said that once Bangladesh was much better than teams like Nepal and Sri Lanka, but now those teams beat Bangladesh.
Nazrul also talked about cricket and football, where the country spends a lot but gets few wins. He asked why, with so many people, Bangladesh can’t produce even a few top athletes. He called for more effort and accountability from sports leaders to make sure money and time are spent wisely.
