Chiwenga exposes corruption and looting by Mnangagwa allies in leaked document

A confidential document by Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, presented to the Zanu PF politburo, has leaked, exposing a major internal conflict over alleged corruption linked to businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei. Chiwenga accused Tagwirei of looting over US$1.9 billion from public funds and illegally controlling state assets, such as Sandawana Mine and stakes in Great Dyke Investments.

The document claims Tagwirei and other businessmen, including Wicknell Chivhayo, Scott Sakupwanya, and Delish Nguwaya, were involved in a coordinated corruption network, stealing billions and bribing party structures. Chiwenga also alleged that the group funded a campaign to extend President Mnangagwa’s rule.

This leaked dossier has sparked tensions within Zanu PF, with Mnangagwa reportedly preparing a response. Tagwirei has denied the allegations, claiming his businesses operate lawfully.
