DPS demands state cars for Radev’s presidential administration
DPS-New Beginning asked Finance Minister Temenuzhka Petkova to allocate funds for presidential administration vehicles after parliament amended the National Security Service Law. The changes left the presidency without a motor pool, and the party noted that presidential staff were the sole state workers using security service cars. The group urged immediate action through a Council of Ministers decree to purchase vehicles and hire necessary personnel.
The party stated the presidential administration needs its fleet like other government bodies, and advisers should not receive preferential treatment over ministry employees. DPS-New Beginning criticized President Radev for using his wife’s car, calling it a publicity stunt that creates difficulties for security personnel. The party said nonspecialized vehicles require excessive human and technical resources for protection, and the gesture represents false concern for employees.
