Dr. Kondwani Nankhumwa rises as top speaker candidate in Malawi Parliament

Dr. Kondwani Nankhumwa has become a key figure in Malawi’s politics. He first entered Parliament in 2009 as the Member of Parliament for Mulanje Central. Over the years, he has taken on many important roles, including Chair of the Parliamentary Media Committee and member of the Public Accounts Committee.

He served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Information, Minister of Local Government, and Minister of Agriculture. Dr. Nankhumwa also led as the Deputy Leader and later the Leader of the House.

With a PhD in Diplomacy, he combines his education with extensive political experience. He is committed to uniting Parliament, ensuring fair treatment for all members.
