du and DE-CIX have announced a major milestone for UAE-IX, the Middle East’s largest Internet Exchange, reaching a peak traffic rate of 1 Terabit per second (Tbit/s). The milestone was shared at GITEX Global 2025, where du showcased its theme “AI’s not just the future. With us, it shapes your next step.”

UAE-IX connects over 110 networks, providing low-latency, high-performance interconnections for carriers, cloud providers, enterprises, and content platforms. By keeping regional traffic local, it improves the digital experience across the UAE and the wider Middle East.
