Farmers set to receive over 1 billion leva in 2025 aid
Farmers in Bulgaria are slated to receive more than 1 billion leva in direct payments and state aid in 2025, the Ministry of Agriculture said, as the State Fund Agriculture released an indicative timetable. For the first time since the Strategic Plan for Agriculture and Rural Areas took effect, the fund expects to disburse over 20 interventions from Direct Payments for the current campaign by late December. Initial support has gone to livestock breeders through the Transitional National Aid for Cattle and Buffaloes, which is not tied to output.
By Nov. 10, authorities plan to cover the excise duty discount for agricultural fuel, along with De Minimis assistance for producers affected by disease-related restricted zones. Aid tied to production under the Transitional National Aid for Sheep and Goats is scheduled by Nov. 20. Compensation for 2025 damage from frost is planned between Nov. 20 and Nov. 30 for gardeners and winegrowers. December brings transfers for the largest budget line, Basic Income Support for Sustainability, as well as Agri-environmental payments, and support for land in Natura areas. During the second ten days of December, De Minimis funding is planned for greenhouse growers. All payments will follow completion of required checks under applicable law, the fund said.
