Harare hosts SADC anti-sanctions music gala
The Heritage Village in Harare will host the Anti-Sanctions Music Gala this Saturday evening as part of the 2025 SADC Anti-Sanctions Day events. Performers include Andy Muridzo, Agatha Murudzwa, Chief Hwenje, Shantel Sithole, Sasha Madube, Cello Culture, Jah Master, Clemence Magwaza, Jah Signal, the ZRP Band, Simon Mutambi, Iyasa, Sandra Ndebele, Khonan’ale, Cynthia Mare, and the Mbare Chimurenga Choir.
This year’s observance carries the theme “Inclusive Development through Heritage-based Innovation and Industrialisation, in a Multilateral World.” Zimbabwe has faced economic sanctions since 2001 from the United States, the European Union, Britain, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. The Southern African Development Community marks October 25 each year as a day of regional solidarity against these measures.
