India, Brazil aim for stronger trade, investment ties

India and Brazil have agreed to strengthen trade and investment ties across sectors like energy, agriculture, and technology. The agreement came after a meeting between India’s Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and Brazil’s Vice President Geraldo Alckmin.

Goyal highlighted the two countries’ shared democratic values and commitment to sustainable growth. He also emphasized their collaboration on global food security, especially on World Food Day.

Alckmin is in India for a two-day visit, which includes discussions with Indian leaders on defence, military cooperation, and defence industrial partnerships. Brazil is India’s largest trade partner in South America, and both nations aim to boost bilateral trade to $20 billion in five years.
