India, Central Asia discuss counterterrorism and connectivity in Bishkek

The Third India-Central Asia meeting took place in Bishkek on Thursday, where National Security Advisors (NSAs) from India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan discussed ways to improve cooperation on issues like terrorism, extremism, and narcotics trafficking. They also focused on strengthening connectivity between India and Central Asia.

The meeting emphasized the importance of regular dialogue to address evolving security challenges. The leaders agreed on the need for cooperation in digital connectivity, infrastructure, AI, and space. They also recognized Afghanistan’s security and stability as crucial for regional peace.

NSA Ajit Doval and the security officials met with Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Zhaparov and held talks with counterparts from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.
