Inter Milan’s Kivu praises Gasperini, updates on Thuram’s return
Inter Milan head coach Christian Kivu praised Roma’s coach Gian Piero Gasperini ahead of their Serie A clash, highlighting Gasperini’s ability to maintain the team’s defensive balance with individual marking. Kivu emphasized Roma’s organization, their intelligent match flow, and how they press when necessary, noting that his team must seize opportunities and act quickly to break their defensive setup.
Reflecting on his time as a player under Gasperini at Inter in the 2011/2012 season, Kivu spoke highly of the coach’s influence on Italian football and his respect for him. He mentioned how Gasperini’s ideas later proved successful, even if Kivu’s own time under him was brief.
Regarding striker Marcus Thuram, Kivu confirmed that the return date remains uncertain but reassured that he has three capable strikers ready for any challenge. He also addressed the pressure on young Francesco Pio Esposito, urging him to embrace responsibility, accept mistakes, and develop his potential.
Kivu also shared fond memories of his time playing for Roma between 2003 and 2007, appreciating the league and the coaches he worked with, including Fabio Capello. He expressed his gratitude for the experience, which helped him grow both as a player and a person.
