Three Indian soldiers injured in suspected ULFA-I attack in Assam

Three soldiers were injured in a suspected terrorist attack at an Indian Army camp in Assam’s Tinsukia district early Friday. Unidentified terrorists opened fire on the Kakopathar Company location from a moving vehicle around midnight.

The army responded quickly, ensuring minimal damage to nearby civilian houses, and forced the attackers to flee after firing automatic weapons. The three injured soldiers suffered minor abrasions.

The banned United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) claimed responsibility for the attack, calling it part of “Operation Vengeance.” A police team, led by Tinsukia’s senior superintendent of police, arrived to assess the situation. Authorities later found an abandoned truck suspected to be used by the attackers in Arunachal Pradesh. Joint army and police teams are conducting extensive search operations in the area.
