Jaishankar meets Sri Lankan PM Amarasuriya to discuss education, ties

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya on Thursday, reaffirming India’s ongoing support for Sri Lanka. They discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in education and capacity building.

Amarasuriya, who is visiting India for the first time since becoming Prime Minister, will stay until October 18. During her trip, she will meet senior political leaders and deliver the keynote address at the ‘NDTV World Summit.’ She will also visit IIT Delhi and NITI Aayog to explore collaborations in education and technology. Additionally, she will attend events to promote trade ties between the two countries. The visit highlights the continued high-level exchanges between India and Sri Lanka, aiming to strengthen their partnership.
