Kompany discusses Bayern’s readiness, Dortmund clash, and Kane’s role

Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany spoke at a press conference ahead of their Bundesliga clash against Borussia Dortmund at the Allianz Arena. He confirmed that all players returned from the international break in good physical condition, except for Guerreiro, who suffered a bruise but is expected to train today. However, Stanisic will miss the match.

Kompany highlighted the excitement of facing Dortmund, who remain unbeaten like Bayern. He praised Dortmund’s stability, the threat of Serhou Guirassy, and their defensive and midfield experience, but emphasized Bayern’s own motivation to win at home.

On the potential transfer of Nico Schlotterbeck, Kompany focused only on him as a competitor for the match. He also praised Dortmund’s development under Nico Kovac, noting they now have a clear system and identity.

Regarding Alphonse Davies, Kompany expressed optimism about his recovery, with hopes for his return in December. On Harry Kane, he acknowledged Kane’s impressive progress and leadership but emphasized the importance of supporting him without extra pressure.

Kompany also addressed Kane’s participation with England, saying it’s not his place to comment on national team decisions. Finally, on equaling Dortmund’s 2015 record of 11 consecutive wins, Kompany downplayed the idea, focusing solely on the importance of winning the match against Dortmund.
