Kozloduy NPP Unit Six Shuts for Annual Repair
The sixth unit at the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant begins its annual repair on October 25 and will run until early December. Operators coordinated the shutdown with the Central Dispatching Department at Electricity System Operator EAD after submitting a preliminary request.
Workers have all the needed resources and skilled staff to carry out the 2025 repair plan for the unit. They will perform scheduled maintenance tasks, along with thorough preventive and technical checks of systems and equipment, to support safe and reliable operation. Teams will also complete measures tied to the plant’s long-term service life. The reactor in Unit Six will receive fresh nuclear fuel for its thirty-first fuel cycle. Unit five continues normal electricity generation as planned.
