Mama Vee claims he was duped in E-Creator scam

Comedian Admire Mushambi testified on Monday that he lost thousands of dollars after investing in E-Creator, and he told magistrate Francis Mapfumo he was hired as a brand ambassador but never dealt directly with the accused masterminds. Mushambi said the company contacted him in South Africa to promote their platform through live streams, and he recruited influencer Madam Boss, along with family members, who later could not withdraw funds when the system collapsed.

Prosecutors accuse Zhao Jiaotong and Billy Thomas Syedou of operating a Ponzi scheme through E-Creator Economic Commerce Private Limited, which they registered in January 2025. The company collected up to $1,000 per investor through mobile payments before closing abruptly on July 5 after posting a notice blaming Jiaotong for absconding to China with investor money. The trial resumes on Oct. 31.
