Maresca handed one-match ban after Chelsea’s Liverpool clash
Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has been handed a one-match touchline ban following his sending-off in the match against Liverpool on October 4. The Football Association confirmed that Maresca admitted to a misconduct charge.
Maresca was dismissed in the sixth minute of stoppage time after running down the touchline to celebrate Willian Estevao’s late winner. As a result, he will miss Chelsea’s Premier League match against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Maresca explained to Italian media that his reaction was “instinctive,” but he added, “I think [the red card] was worth it.”
