Bangladeshi actress Mehazabien Chowdhury obtained bail following accusations that she embezzled 27 lakh taka and made threats after allegedly promising business partnership opportunities to a complainant. The performer published a statement on social media rejecting the claims as unfounded and lamenting efforts to damage her professional standing.

Mehazabien stated that the individual who initiated legal proceedings has provided no verified contact information to authorities, despite nine months passing since filing charges against her and her teenage sibling. She noted the absence of any communications records, financial documentation, agreements, receipts, or witnesses to substantiate allegations of contact dating back multiple years and substantial monetary transfers.

The actress emphasized that she received no official notifications before learning of the warrant and subsequently followed proper legal channels to secure release. She requested the public avoid premature conclusions pending court proceedings, expressing sadness at needing to defend herself after 15 years working in entertainment.
