Minister Mitov pushes for digital overhaul, body cameras in police force

The Minister of Interior, Daniel Mitov, stated that longstanding issues concerning police technical support and officer salaries are being progressively addressed. He identified the full digitization of the ministry’s internal administration and human resources activities as a primary objective, aiming to end its reliance on paper-based systems.

Mitov emphasized the necessity of equipping law enforcement with modern tasers and body cameras. He explained that the use of body cameras is mandatory, as they provide an objective record of interactions for both police officers and citizens. The minister expressed his commitment to traveling across the country to persuade police personnel of the equipment’s importance.
