Mobile court seizes illegal fertilizer in Lalmonirhat

Authorities in Patgram upazila confiscated 416 bags of chemical fertilizer from an illegal seller on Friday morning. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Uttam Kumar Das led the mobile court operation near Bypass Mor at Karim Traders around 11 a.m. with help from residents and political party members. Officials fined dealer Faruk Ahmed 30,000 taka after finding he allegedly obtained about 700 bags of urea, DAP, and potash from a government warehouse in Mahendranagar for resale to local merchants.

The executive magistrate said farmers will purchase the seized materials at fair prices. Das announced continued enforcement actions to stop unlawful stockpiling and price manipulation. Ahmed operates Agrani Traders as a registered BCI dealer in Lalmonirhat district.
