Moskov slams 2026 budget as socialist move
Blue Bulgaria co-chairman Petar Moskov condemned the proposed 2026 state budget as an embrace of socialist economic principles that redistribute resources from productive sectors toward dependent populations. The KOD party leader argued that parliament lacks genuine right-wing opposition to challenge redistributive governance, claiming GERB has abandoned conservative fiscal positioning to join socialist ranks. Moskov criticized the absence of parliamentary advocates for small and family enterprises that sustain economic activity without seeking state assistance.
The former health minister identified systemic inefficiencies in medical spending, noting that annual billion-leva funding increases fail to improve service quality. Moskov advocated reducing Health Fund hospital contracts from 340 facilities to approximately 100 institutions, concentrating resources to enable competitive physician compensation while enforcing quality standards. He characterized the current healthcare framework as absorbing escalating budgets without delivering measurable improvements to patient care.
